American Legion state oratorial contest results
The American Legion hosted the state oratorial contest for high school students this weekend and the results are as follows:
Jennifer Quan took first place. The Covenant Christian Academy (Huntsville) senior won a $5,000 scholarship.
An Auburn freshman, Elizabeth Blessing took second. The homeschooler received a $3,000 scholarship.
And a Wetumpka freshman, Charisa Hagel, came in third. The Evangel Family Christian Academy student received a $2,000 scholarship. Her parents are Steve and Jule Hagel.
